Frequently asked questions
Is the PS4 still worth buying games for?
Absolutely: the back catalogue is one of gaming's best and prices are gentler than current-generation releases. High review counts point straight at the games that defined the console.
Will PS4 games and pads work on a PS5?
Almost the entire PS4 library plays on PS5, and PS4 controllers work for PS4 games on the newer console. That makes PS4 games a safe gift even for someone mid-upgrade.
My PS4 is running out of space: what are the options?
An external USB drive is the painless fix, and well-reviewed drives install in minutes. Internal upgrades work too, but reviews show most owners choose external for the simplicity.
