Frequently asked questions
How should climbing shoes fit?
Climbing shoes fit snugly with no dead space, and beginners usually prefer a flatter, comfier shoe over an aggressive downturned one. Sizing runs small, so check reviews.
Is it safe to buy safety gear online?
Yes, provided it is certified (look for CE and UIAA marks) and bought new from reputable listings. Never use second-hand ropes or hardware of unknown history.
What do I need to start indoor climbing?
For bouldering you mainly need shoes and chalk; for roped climbing you also need a harness and belay device. Many gyms hire gear while you decide.
