Frequently asked questions
Recurve or compound bow for a beginner?
Recurve bows are simpler, cheaper and the usual starting point (and the Olympic discipline), while compound bows use a pulley system for easier holding at full draw.
What draw weight should I start with?
Beginners typically start light (around 18-24 lbs) to build good form without strain, then increase draw weight as technique and strength develop.
Do I need matching arrows?
Yes, arrow length and spine (stiffness) should match your bow and draw length for safety and accuracy. Check the listing specifications or a spine chart.
