How it compares in Fishing
Across the 49 rated fishing products we track, the typical score is 4.5 out of 5. This one sits at 4.7, which puts it in the upper quarter of the category rather than level with it. Where almost everything is rated well, the gap at the top is small in points and large in practice.
It carries 140 ratings against a category median of 802. That is a thin base by the standards of this category, so treat the score as provisional: a handful of extra reviews can still move it either way.

Key features, as the manufacturer lists them
Taken from the product listing via Amazon's product API. These are the seller's claims, not our test results.
- Lifelike Sandeel Imitation: The Savage Gear Sandeel V2 WL offers super realistic details with an enhanced kicking action on both the drop and retrieve, perfectly mimicking the movement of a real sandeel. This action is designed to attract pike, bass, zander, and other predator fish in saltwater environments.
- Weedless Design with Click-On EWG Hook: This version features a weedless design with a strong click-on connection for the interchangeable EWG hook, providing flexibility and reliability when fishing in areas with heavy cover. The forged carbon steel EWG hook is available in #3/0 (22g) and #5/0 (31g) sizes with a tin finish for corrosion resistance.
- Articulated Head and Rolling Action: The Savage Gear Sandeel V2 WL features a rolling rise jig head design, ensuring perfect articulated head movement and making the lure rise naturally on retrieve. This lifelike action enhances its effectiveness in attracting fish and increases strike opportunities.
- Internal Glass Rattle for Added Attraction: The internal glass rattle inside the body produces a sound that provokes the attention of nearby predator fish. The rattle is removable, giving you the option to customize the sound for varying fishing conditions.
- Pro Peg Holder for Secure Rigging: The Pro Peg body holder allows for easy and secure mounting of the soft PVC body to the jig head using the provided toothpicks, ensuring that the body stays in place even after repeated casts. A spare tail is included for extended use.
