Overview

Amazon Basics Core Soft Golf Balls, 12-Pack sits in our golf listings, where we rank by how buyers actually rate a product rather than by brand. The manufacturer says: 12-pack of low compression golf balls delivers exceptional distance and straight flight path with soft feel on impact. Advanced core and cover technology provides improved short game control and putting accuracy. Those are the seller's own claims rather than our testing, so treat them as a starting point. On Amazon it holds 4.4 out of 5 from 901 ratings. What that score is worth next to its rivals is set out below.

How it compares in Golf

Across the 14 rated golf products we track, the typical score is 4.5 out of 5. This one sits at 4.4, which is in the bottom quarter of the category. That does not make it a bad buy, but there are better-rated alternatives on the same shelf, so it needs another reason to earn your money.

It carries 901 ratings against a category median of 1,839. That is a thin base by the standards of this category, so treat the score as provisional: a handful of extra reviews can still move it either way.

On price it sits in the middle third of a category running from £6.99 to £33.74, where the midpoint is about £14.99. That is the part of the range where most sensible buys sit, neither cutting corners nor paying for the name.
